Women's football squad ready to defend National title in Glasgow!

Excitement is building as the Bolton Arena Women’s 6-A-Side football squad gears up to defend their national title in Glasgow on April 13th! Last year, Scottish, Welsh, and English teams showcased their skills in a thrilling tournament, and this year promises even more action with a growing number of entries.

In addition to their renowned prowess in the women’s 6-A-Side category, the Bolton Arena squad is expanding its presence by entering teams in the O40s and O50s sections. Club captain Danni Toward expressed her enthusiasm, noting, “The tournament was so enjoyable last year that more players wanted to join us. We welcome a few guest players to bolster the squads, enabling a two-team Arena entry.”

Midfielder Ruth Harrison highlighted the team’s readiness for the challenge, stating, “We are looking forward to defending our O40’s title. The tournament’s limitation to 3-touch football suits us perfectly!”

Reflecting on the positive experience of last year’s event, Danni Toward praised the organisation and quality of refereeing in Glasgow, emphasising, “The Glasgow tournament is one of the best-run tournaments we have attended. It’s great to get away with the other players and kick off the season with some top-class competition before the English tournaments start.”
