Junior Tennis

Coaching for young players from mini tennis (age 3+) to performance squads with LTA coaches.

Start growing Tennis skills

Tennis might consist of six basic strokes, but there is much more to this great game than just swinging a racquet. It calls for balance, co-ordination, agility, movement, technique, tactics and problem-solving.

Kids’ tennis lessons are not just a fantastic way to keep your young ones active – they include many skills that will stand them in good stead off the court too.

Our tennis skills pathway caters for children as young as three and takes them on a journey that covers all the basics, through to match play ability.

And just in case you’re wondering, the six strokes we refer to are: the serve, forehand groundstroke, backhand groundstroke, forehand volley, backhand volley, and the overhead smash.

Come and learn them all – and more – at Bolton Arena.

Mini Red (3-5 years), Mini Orange (6-8 years), Mini Green (8-9 years), Yellow Ball (10+), and Performance Squads. Each stage uses age-appropriate courts, nets, and balls.

All junior coaching is delivered by LTA-accredited coaches with enhanced DBS checks and first aid qualifications. Our head coach has over 15 years of experience.

Players can progress into internal leagues, county competitions, and regional tournaments. We support talented juniors through the LTA pathway.
