Bolton Arena Sports Village proudly concluded a remarkable 2023 on December 5th, with an unforgettable event attended by the Mayor of Horwich, esteemed delegates from Bolton Council, and the globally renowned World Record Freestyler and Digital Creator, John Farnworth. The occasion marked the official inauguration of our state-of-the-art 7-A-Side and 9-A-Side pitches. Joined by nearly one hundred players and parents from Adlington JFC, John Farnworth astounded the audience with a dazzling display of football juggling skills.
We were honored to be joined by the Horwich Town Mayor David Grant, who had the honor of officially cutting the ribbon to the pitches and had the provided the following statement:
“As Mayor of Horwich, I was thrilled to have attended the opening of the newly refurbished sports pitches at Bolton Arena.
Witnessing the transformation of the facilities is a testament to the Arenas commitment to community, Sport and health in our Town. The upgraded sports pitches not only provide a space for residents to engage in football but also foster a sense of community spirit through respect in competitive sports”
“The Town Council and I are proud to support initiatives that promote active lifestyles and I believe these pitches will serve as a hub for community sports contributing to the overall health and vitality of our Town”.
We were also privilege to have Cllr Nadeem Ayub a cabinet member of culture for Bolton who commented “These tremendous new football pitches will play an important role in the wider regeneration of Bolton, bringing opportunities for local people of various age groups to participate in football and improve their health, physical activity and wellbeing.”
Bolton Arena Football Manager, Marcus Brown, expressed his enthusiasm, noting that the new pitches underscore the substantial investments made in 2023, both indoors and outdoors at the ‘Village, reconfirming Bolton Arena as the premier destination for sports enthusiasts. The completion of the 7-A-Side and 9-A-Side pitches drew widespread attention, resulting in a surge of enquiries from grassroots clubs eager to host their league matches at the Arena. The allure of Bolton’s newest 4G pitches has already attracted over 1,000 footballers weekly, contributing to the vibrancy of the local sports community. Notably, the BWFC Academy secured block bookings for training sessions, recognising the unparalleled quality and appeal of the upgraded pitches. As Bolton Arena Sports Village reflects on a truly stellar 2023, these developments underscore our commitment to providing top-tier football facilities, nurturing local talent of all age groups, and fostering a vibrant sports culture within the community.
