Casual Receptionist

Location: Active Bolton Arena / Leverhulme Park Community Leisure Centre
Hours: Casual
Salary: £8.00 – £12.71 per hour

We’re looking for friendly and enthusiastic receptionists to join our team at Active Bolton.

Whether you’re looking for your first role in customer service or already have experience, we’ll support you to learn, develop, and become part of a friendly team that loves making a difference in the local community.

About the Role

As a receptionist, no two days are the same.

One moment you could be greeting customers and supporting members to check members in for activities, and the next you could be answering enquiries, taking bookings, or helping someone find the right activity for them. You’ll be at the heart of everything that happens, helping people feel welcome, informed, and excited to come back again.

Most importantly, you’ll help create a warm and welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and supported.

What You Will Do

• Welcome customers with a smile
• Check people in for activities and memberships
• Answer questions in person, over the phone, and by email
• Take bookings and process payments
• Help customers find activities that are right for them
• Keep reception looking tidy, organised, and welcoming
• Work with colleagues to make sure every customer has a great experience
• Follow health and safety procedures and protect customer information
• Bring energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to every shift

What We’re Looking For

• A friendly and approachable personality
• Great communication and people skills
• Someone who enjoys helping others and working as part of a team
• Confidence using computers and new systems
• The ability to stay calm and organised when things get busy
• A flexible approach to work, including evenings and weekends
• Customer service experience is helpful but not essential – your attitude is what matters most!

Essential

• Great communication and organisational skills

Desirable

• Experience in a customer service role
• Cash handling skills
