Park Yoga Attendance Reaches Record High at Queen’s Park
A record number of people attended Active Bolton’s Park Yoga session this weekend, as 76 yoga enthusiasts celebrated International Yoga Day.
Participants also enjoyed a post-session tea party, generously sponsored by Yogi Tea, the national sponsor of Park Yoga.
The event, held on Sunday 21 June, marked the eighth of a 20-week Park Yoga programme at Queen’s Park.

Stuart Kay, Sport and Communities Director, said:
“We are extremely pleased to see participation numbers steadily increasing week by week. Reaching 76 attendees is a fantastic milestone, and we remain hopeful of achieving our target of 100 participants before the end of the 20-week programme.”
Active Bolton, on behalf of Bolton Council, support the borough’s health and wellbeing strategy through the delivery of activities in parks and green spaces across Bolton.
Park Yoga will continue at Queen’s Park for the next 12 weeks, providing residents with a free and welcoming opportunity to improve their physical and mental wellbeing in a relaxed outdoor setting.
Queen’s Park offers free parking and café facilities for those wishing to enjoy refreshments after the session. Sessions will take place in light rain; however, any cancellations due to adverse weather will be communicated at least one hour before the start time via the Park Yoga Bolton Facebook page and website.
