Active Bolton Donates Former Uniforms to Support Communities in Ukraine

· Tom Giblin

Active Bolton has donated a large quantity of former staff uniforms to support people affected by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

The clothing had become surplus to requirements due to the introduction of rebranded uniform in April, after Active Bolton were awarded the contract to operate and manage five leisure centres across the borough, on behalf of Bolton Council.

Volunteer led organisation Chorley and District Support for Ukraine will now distribute the donated uniform, ensuring it is put to good use.

Stuart Kay, Sport and Communities Director at Active Bolton, said:

“We are delighted that these uniforms are going to such a worthwhile cause. It was important to us that the clothing continued to provide value and support rather than ending up in landfill.

After visiting the Ukraine Unit in Chorley, I was truly inspired by the dedication of the volunteers and the incredible service they provide. The volume of medical supplies, clothing, food, children’s items and other essential goods they collect and transport is remarkable.

We hope our donation helps make a small difference to those affected by the conflict and supports the fantastic work being carried out by Chorley and District Support for Ukraine.”

This donation reflects Active Bolton’s wider commitment to supporting people, communities and the environment, ensuring that resources are reused wherever possible and can continue to make a positive impact.

The team at Chorley and District Support for Ukraine continues to coordinate donations from across the region, helping to provide essential items to communities in need.
