Active Bolton launches FREE Tennis Coaching Programme at Moss Bank Park!
Bolton families are being encouraged to get active outdoors this summer as Active Bolton launches a new programme of FREE tennis coaching sessions at Moss Bank Park.
The initiative forms part of Active Bolton’s ongoing commitment to improving health and wellbeing across the borough while encouraging residents to make greater use of Bolton’s fantastic green spaces and outdoor facilities.
The new tennis coaching programme will begin on Saturday 13 June and run for six weeks, offering free, professionally delivered coaching sessions for children and families. All sessions must be booked in advance via the Active Bolton app.
Session Times:
· 1:00pm – 2:00pm: Mini Red Tennis (Ages 5-7)
· 1:00pm – 2:00pm: Junior Tennis (Ages 7-11)
All sessions will be delivered by an accredited Level 3 Tennis Coaches. Participants do not need to bring any equipment, with rackets and balls provided free of charge.
The launch builds on Active Bolton’s growing programme of outdoor wellbeing activities. Residents are already enjoying the popular Park Yoga sessions held every Sunday at Queens Park from 9:30am to 10:30am, running until 3 September.
Earlier this year, Active Bolton was awarded the leisure contract to operate Bolton’s leisure centres on behalf of Bolton Council, reinforcing its commitment to increasing opportunities for residents to be active and healthy.
Stuart Kay, Director of Sport & Communities at Active Bolton, said:
“Bolton has plenty of free tennis courts in green spaces throughout the borough, and adding free coaching on those courts will bring something that hasn’t been available for quite some time. Whether you’ve never picked up a racket before or you’re looking to improve your skills, come and give it a go.”
He added:
“Tennis is a fantastic sport for people of all ages to enjoy. With free coaching available, who knows – we could even discover Bolton’s next Wimbledon champion at Moss Bank Park.”
Active Bolton is also reminding residents that tennis courts across Bolton Council parks can be booked in advance through ClubSpark Book a tennis court near you | Courts across Great Britain | LTA. Court bookings are free of charge, making it easier than ever for individuals and families to enjoy tennis in their local community.
