Casual Gymnastics Coach (Level 1)

Hours: Casual hours including evenings and weekends x2
Pay: £8.50 per hour – £12.71 per hour

Active Bolton is looking for enthusiastic and motivated Level 1 Gymnastics Coaches to join our growing gymnastics programme at Active Bolton Arena.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established programme supporting more than 500 children each week, from preschool beginners through to advanced gymnasts. Sessions take place during evenings, weekends, and holiday camps in a supportive, energetic, and rewarding environment.

About the Role 

As a Gymnastics Coach with Active Bolton, you will play an important role in inspiring children and young people to develop confidence, coordination, and a lifelong enjoyment of gymnastics and physical activity.

Working at Bolton Arena, you’ll deliver fun, safe, and engaging sessions for children aged 4–16 across a variety of ability levels, from beginners taking their first steps in gymnastics to more advanced participants developing their skills further.

You’ll be part of a supportive and experienced coaching team within a thriving programme that supports over 500 children each week. The role offers the opportunity to develop your coaching experience, build positive relationships with participants and families, and contribute to creating an inclusive environment where every child can achieve their potential.

This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about gymnastics, enjoys working with young people, and wants to make a positive impact within the local community through sport and wellbeing.

What You Will Do

• Deliver high-quality gymnastics sessions for children aged 4–16 in a safe, positive, and inclusive environment
• Support participants to develop confidence, coordination, and gymnastics skills at all ability levels
• Assist in delivering engaging lessons in line with British Gymnastics guidance and programme standards
• Ensure all equipment is set up and used safely throughout sessions
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and fellow coaches
• Encourage participation, enjoyment, and progression within the gymnastics programme
• Promote safeguarding, health and safety, and wellbeing at all times
• Support holiday camps, events, and additional gymnastics activities where required
• Work collaboratively as part of the wider Active Bolton team to create an outstanding experience for participants and families

What We’re Looking For

• British Gymnastics Level 1 qualification (or equivalent)
• Safeguarding training completed within the last 3 years
• Proof of qualifications and right to work in the UK

We operate a 6-day gymnastics programme, and hours are flexible. Vacancies are available on a casual or permanent basis during the following times:

• Monday: 4:00 – 6:00 pm
• Tuesday 4:00 – 8:00 pm
• Wednesday: 4:00 – 7:00 pm
• Thursday: 4:00 – 6:00 pm
• Friday: 4:00 – 7:00 pm
• Saturday: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
